                                      March 31
                                   9:00 Am
Wegerzyns Gardens Metro Park Dayton, Ohio

Come run or walk with us March 31 at Wegerzyns Gardens  Metro Park to raise awareness of the war and humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Since 1994 over 6 million people have died due to warfare, disease and  starvation in the eastern Congo. Violence and rape is epidemic. According to the UN the Democratic Republic of Congo has the highest incidence of rape in the world. Rape is used as weapon of war to disseminate terror, demoralize to population and disrupt society. In the eastern Congo war zones over 1000 women are raped a month. Children suffer from starvation and disease, and lack of access to education. Familes are disrupted by death and displacement.

You are invited to stay after the run to learn more about the situation in the Congo and what Project Congo is doing to help. There will also be demonstrations of Congolese and Central African dance , music and art. The movie  "The Crisis in the Congo" will be shown after the awards ceremony.

Come run or walk for your health and at the same time help bring health and hope to victims of crisis in the Congo!

Bring your old cellphones for recycling and be entered in a drawing for  African themed prizes !
