Project Congo is partnering with St Vincent Hospital in Bukavu to help rape victims get medical care and reconstructive surgery to repair long term damage from brutal and highly traumatic rapes. St Vincent's has a waiting list of almost 150 patients for reconstructive surgery but so far this year have only been able to perform 22 surgeries due to lack of funds. The typical reconstructive surgery and care cost 150$ per patient. Project Congo is raising funds and seeking patient sponsors to allow more women to have access to this much needed care.
